BTC Market Review - June 16, 2026

Despite the continued prevalence of market selling, its effectiveness is declining. Buyers are strengthening limit support, and the market is showing potential signs of a shift to a localized upward movement.

In this market review, we do not attempt to predict the future; our task is to state the facts we have at the present moment. We base our actions on these facts, not on our expectations and hopes.
Market Orders and Limit Orders
Over the period under review, market sell orders remain dominant, with their volumes continuing to gradually increase. This is clearly visible in the cumulative delta histogram (red rectangle) and indicates continued seller activity. Selling pressure remains noticeable, but its effectiveness is beginning to wane: despite the continued influx of market sell orders, the price is no longer declining as steadily as before.
At the same time, limit orders have begun to locally show a steady predominance of buy orders, with limit demand volumes gradually increasing (green rectangle). Counter-liquidity from buyers has helped halt the decline and establish local support within the current range. This suggests that some market participants are beginning to actively buy up incoming sales volumes.

Change in price per unit volume
The effectiveness of volume has currently shifted in favor of buyers: a smaller volume is required to drive the price up compared to downward pressure. This indicates an increase in the effectiveness of buying activity and a gradual decline in the effectiveness of market selling.
This dynamic often occurs during the weakening stages of a downward movement, when sellers continue to maintain high activity, but the market no longer responds with a corresponding price decline.

Balance Index
Amid local movement, the balance index has shifted upward and is near the abnormal percentile zone. This index position reflects increased buyer activity and confirms the presence of a local imbalance favoring demand.
While this signal does not in itself confirm a reversal, it does indicate a noticeable change in the order flow structure compared to previous periods.

Price Dynamics
Market sell orders continue to become increasingly pronounced, but the price is barely responding to this activity with further declines. This indicates a decline in sellers’ effectiveness and the emergence of counter-demand capable of absorbing incoming volumes.
At the same time, limit orders are showing a steady predominance of buy orders, which are forming local support within the current range. As a result, the market is gradually moving from a phase of active decline to a stabilization phase, with attempts to form a local upward movement.

Summary:
According to Charles Dow’s theory, the short-term structure has begun to transition to an upward movement. After prolonged selling pressure, the market was able to halt its decline, and local highs began to be renewed.
It’s premature to talk about a full-fledged reversal, but the current structure indicates a weakening of the downward trend and the first signs of a local buyer advantage.
