QuFi Network Launches Post-Quantum Bitcoin Verification

QuFi Network has launched an innovative post-quantum verification platform aiming to protect digital assets from potential quantum threats. Notably, this solution ensures security without the need to modify existing settlement networks.

Introduction to QuFi Network

The company QuFi Network is actively engaged in developing technologies capable of protecting digital assets from threats arising from the advancement of quantum computing. The new platform focuses on providing secure transactions and maximizing protection in the post-quantum era.

Off-Blockchain Verification

The core concept of QuFi’s initiative is based on separating transaction verification processes from their final execution. The platform uses independent nodes to conduct cryptographic verification before funds are transferred, then submits compact proofs of these verifications to the blockchain. This allows blockchains to avoid excessive loads related to increased data volumes and computational complexity required to handle post-quantum cryptography.

Security Standards

To ensure protection, the platform applies three standards developed as part of the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) initiative: ML-DSA-65 for digital signatures, SLH-DSA as a hashing scheme, and ML-KEM-1024 for secure key exchange. These standards were chosen for their relevance in the face of rising quantum technology threats.

Application in Bitcoin: Test Version

As part of the solution demonstration, QuFi utilized Bitcoin Testnet4 to develop a proof-of-concept called uBTC. This mechanism verifies the presence of BTC as collateral and forms cryptographically backed proofs that allow further value transfer without needing to modify the original Bitcoin network protocol directly.

Limitations and Future Prospects

Although the current system demonstrates significant potential, it is presently tested only in a test network and does not yet provide full post-quantum protection on the main network. QuFi plans to expand the platform’s functionality in networks like EVM, Stellar, and Solana. The Genesis Node initiative has also been launched to support a decentralized verification network.

Conclusion

QuFi Network’s introduction to the post-quantum verification space offers a fresh perspective on protecting digital assets in the face of advancing technologies.

  • Strengths: Does not require protocol changes in current networks.
  • Risks: Currently only a test network.
  • Opportunities: Expansion to other blockchain networks.
  • Threats: Potential scalability challenges in the main network.
